Training of Medical Doctors of Employees' State Insurance Corporation on HIV & AIDS/TB Workplace Interventions
A training of medical doctors of ESIC hospitals on HIV & AIDS/TB Workplace Interventions was carried out by ILO on the 10-11 November, 2009. The objective of the training was to orient the ESIC doctors to the National Policy on HIV & AIDS in the world of work and strategy for sustainable Work Place Interventions, particularly in the health care setting.
26 medical doctors from five Delhi based ESIC hospitals were trained through this initiative. The workshop covered the basics of HIV/AIDS, TB, stigma and discrimination, and components of HIV & AIDS Workplace policy and programmes. Participants were assisted in developing action plans for their workplace programme in ESIC hospitals. ILO training and communication material were shared with the participants.
