    ASEAN Labour Migration Database Technical Meeting

    The ILO ASEAN TRIANGLE Project is developing a Labour Migration Statistics Database that will include the ten member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in recognition of the importance of collecting, analysing and sharing labour migration data and in the absence of any existing database relevant to labour migration issues.

    The course on the social and professional reintegration of return migrants will be offered once again this year from 28 October - 1 November 2013. The course will be in French and English to and will foster a multi-level reflection among participants from various regions.

    The two-day training workshop looks at ways labour inspectors and police officers can effectively combat forced labour and human trafficking in Jordan.

    200 domestic workers from 42 countries around the world gathered to discuss the ways to improve the working conditions of domestic workers worldwide and to launch the International Domestic Workers Federation.

    The EU funded Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and Their Families (GAP-MDW) was launched at the 2nd High-level Dialogue on Migration and Development of the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

    The Second UN High-level Dialogue on International Migration and Development (HLD) took place 3-4 October in New York at the UN General Assembly, where the international community sought to identify concrete measures to strengthen coherence and cooperation in order to enhance the development benefits of international migration for migrants and countries alike.
