Launch of How Immigrant Contribute to Kyrgyzstan's Economy in Bishkek (ECLM project)
An event was held in Bishkek on 5 December 2017 to launch the report, How Immigrants Contribute to Kyrgyzstan’s Economy. The report was produced in the context of the project "Assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in developing countries as countries of destination" (ECLM). The launch event was the third and final event in Kyrgyzstan for the EU-funded ECLM project, which is jointly implemented by the OECD Development Centre and the ILO. It follows the National Consultation Seminar held in this country in November 2015, and a training workshop in July 2016.
The launch provided an opportunity to share and discuss the findings and policy implications of the project with a focus on Kyrgyzstan. It also served as a platform for policy dialogue between policy makers and representatives from academia, civil society and multilateral organisations.
