    The ILO/Japan project “Towards fair and sustainable global supply chains: Promoting formalization and decent work for invisible workers in South Asia” (Sustainable Global Supply Chains in South Asia) aims to contribute to the development of ethical and sustainable global supply chains.

    Formalizing access to the legal labour market for refugees and host communities in Jordan (Phase II)

    30 September 2018 - 30 September 2021

    This project seeks to support Jordanians and Syrian refugees in accessing decent work in Jordan’s labour market through skills development and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), while also supporting female workers to enter and remain in the formal work force through targeted support. It also supports refugee workers with work permit issuance in selected sectors, including through an ILO-developed web-based platform.

    Towards fair and sustainable global supply chains: Promoting decent work for invisible workers - Nepal Component

    1 July 2017 - 31 December 2020

    This Japan Government funded project is the second phase of “Way out of Informality in South Asia” (2012-2016). The project aims at promoting approaches that promote decent work at the lower tiers of global supply chains.

    Cooperatives to Strengthen Youth Empowerment and Employment Readiness among Vulnerable, Marginalised and At-Risk Groups

    Young people in Cambodia and the Lao People's Democratic Republic face specific challenges in accessing the labour market. For those in employment, many are in poor quality and low-paid jobs. The project aims to build institutional capacities to deliver innovative and value-added services with a special focus on employment readiness/foundational skills empowerment, and cooperative development for marginalized and at-risk youth.

    Strengthening Labour Governance in MSMEs and Supporting the Transition from the Informal to the Formal Economy in Africa

    1 January 2016 - 31 December 2019

    The project aims at supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including in the informal economy, to prevent occupational risks, improve working conditions, and promote respect for Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (FPRW).
