Kinofelis, a public works programme in Greece, has helped some 45,000 beneficiaries find a job, giving new hope to communities in the crisis-shaken country. The ILO was asked by the European Commission to improve the programme by focusing on skills, social protection and the payment of the minimum wage.

ILO Response to the Ecuador earthquake

Following the earthquake of 7.8 magnitude that hit Ecuador in April 2016, causing significant damage and affecting several important sectors of the economy, the Government of Ecuador asked the ILO to contribute to the reconstruction efforts in coordination with the United Nations system.
