18th African Regional Seminar for Labour-Based Practitioners

Call for papers

In preparation for the 18th African Regional Seminar for Labour-based Practitioners, which will be organized by the Government of Tunisia in partnership with the ILO from 9 – 13 September 2019 in Tunis, a “Call for Papers” has been issued in order to seek contributions to the above seminar under the major theme of local resource-based approaches and its contribution to decent job creation towards sustainable and inclusive local development. Those wishing to present papers are invited to send an abstract in French or in English before May 15, 2019.

Papers are particularly welcome on different sub-themes like: alternative and innovative technologies; institutional and financing mechanisms at local and national levels; local resource-based approaches and the SDGs; local resource-based approaches that benefits the decentralization process; employability of young women and men and the adaptation of vocational and university training; training programmes, projects, techniques and systems using local resource-based approaches; green works protecting the environment and investments meeting the climate change challenges; and finally legal, legislative and social aspects of local resource-based approaches (e.g. social security, decent work concept, procurement, public-private and public community partnerships, support for target (young people, women) and vulnerable groups (disabled, etc.).
