Call for proposals from financial services providers to access technical assistance to extend financial services to refugees and host communities in Kenya

In the framework of the PROSPECTS project, the ILO is working towards enhancing local economic development and increasing economic opportunities for refugees and host communities in Kenya, within Turkana and Garissa counties. And as part of these efforts, the ILO and its International Training Centre developed the Making Finance Work for Refugees training programme, which aims to help FSPs diversify their product portfolio through serving refugees and host communities in a strategic and cost-effective way.

In this context, the ILO will now be facilitating a technical assistance for selected FSPs to operationalize the learnings from the course and to enable them to sustainably provide inclusive financial services to refugees and host communities in the 2 above-mentioned counties of Kenya, namely Turkana and Garissa.

To apply to this technical assistance, please review the call for proposals, and complete the information requested by September 26th 2021. Kindly note that the financial institutions that apply should have a keen interest in providing inclusive financial services for refugees and host communities.

As this technical assistance is linked to the Making Finance Work for Refugees programme, having attended the course is a plus. However, kindly note that the technical assistance is still open to all FSPs waiting to serve refugees and host communities in the 2 project districts.
