On 15 March 2022, the International Labour Organization and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have concluded their first institutional cooperation agreement. The new agreement, signed respectively by the Director-General of the International Labour Office and the President of the Council of ICAO during a virtual ceremony, aims at strengthening the cooperation between the two UN specialized agencies in matters of mutual interest such as women and aviation, the future of decent and sustainable work in aviation and data collection. The agreement provides for joint activities, including research, technical meetings, advisory services, training and the development of guidelines, tools and methodologies. The agreement is concluded for a period of five years renewable.
