Members invited to ratify the 1986 constitutional amendment


In March 2017, the Governing Body of the International Labour Office invited once more Members which have not yet done so to ratify the Instrument for the Amendment of the Constitution of the International Labour Organisation, 1986. The Governing Body also requested the Director-General to actively pursue promotional efforts for its ratification, including through direct contacts with Members, and to report in November 2017 on the results obtained and the feedback from Members concerned on the reasons which prevent or delay such ratification. Eighty-two member States of the Organization have not yet ratified the 1986 Amendment. Twenty ratifications are still required before the Amendment enters into force.
