  1. Rethinking Economic Growth: Towards productive and inclusive Arab societies

    Members of the Governing Body and ILO staff are invited to a discussion of the joint ILO-UNDP report Rethinking Economic Growth: Towards productive and inclusive Arab societies. The report encompasses inputs from a wide range of top academics as well as the ITUC and the IOE.
    The event will be chaired by Ms Nada Al-Nashif, ILO Regional Director for the Arab States. The report will be introduced by Mr Raymond Torres (ILO International Institute for Labour Studies) and discussed by Mahmoud El Khafif (Senior Economic Affairs Officer, UNCTAD), Ms Esther Busser (ITUC), a representative from the IOE and Ms Kinda Mohamedieh (South Center).
    The discussion will end with a question and answer session.
    Interpretation will be provided into English, French and Arabic.
    A buffet lunch will be served in Les Gobelins, R2 South, from 12h30 to 13h30, for those attending the presentation.

  2. Briefing session on the 3rd Global Conference on Child Labour

    Members of the Governing Body and ILO staff are invited by the Ministry of Social Development and Fight Against Hunger and the Ministry of Labour and Employment of Brazil to a briefing session on the 3rd Global Conference on Child Labour, to be held in Brasilia on 8-10 October 2013.
    The briefing session will focus on the preparatory process, logistical aspects, objectives and expected outcomes of the 3rd Global Conference on Child Labour.
    A light lunch will be served in the Espace Gobelins (R2 south) just before the briefing starts.
