Additional information concerning the situation in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
The Governing Body decided, in light of the short period of time between the decision to include this item on the agenda and the end of the session, to request the Director-General urgently to communicate the letter received by the Chairperson of the Governing Body to the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for further comments, acknowledging the information already received, so that the Governing Body can discuss at its 310th Session (March 2011), in the light of the information provided to it, the action that may be considered necessary, including whether the complaint filed initially in 2004 should be referred as a whole to a Commission of Inquiry in accordance with article 26, paragraph 4, of the Constitution.
