  1. High-level evaluations of strategies and Decent Work Country Programmes

    This document presents a summary of the findings and recommendations of three independent high-level evaluations conducted during 2018. Part I pertains to the ILO’s strategy and actions for improved youth employment prospects, 2012–17. Part II covers the ILO’s capacity-development efforts, 2010–17 (all constituents). Part III concerns the ILO’s programme of work in Lebanon and Jordan in terms of Decent Work and the Response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis, 2014–18. The Governing Body is invited to endorse the recommendations and request the Director-General to ensure their implementation (see draft decision in paragraph 136).

  2. Annual evaluation report 2017–18

    In Part I of the present document, the Governing Body is provided with a progress report on the ILO’s evaluation work during 2017–18, as measured against its results-based evaluation strategy 2018–21. Part II touches upon ongoing internal efforts in the ILO aimed at strengthening the measurement of overall effectiveness of the Office. The Governing Body may wish to take note of the present report, endorse recommendations contained therein and confirm priorities for the 2019–21 programme of work for evaluations (see draft decision in paragraph 89).

  1. High-level evaluations of strategies and Decent Work Country Programmes

    This document presents a summary of the findings and recommendations of three independent high-level evaluations conducted during 2017. Part I pertains to the independent evaluation of the ILO’s strategy and actions on creating and extending social protection floors 2012–17. Part II summarizes the findings of the independent evaluation of the ILO’s field operations and structure 2010–16. Part III concerns the evaluation of the ILO’s Decent Work Country Programmes, strategies and actions in the Mekong subregion 2012–17. The final section of each summary contains a set of recommendations requiring follow-up and sets out the Office response. The Governing Body is invited to endorse the recommendations and request the Director-General to ensure their implementation (see draft decision in paragraph 127).

  2. Annual evaluation report 2016–17

    In Part I of the present document, the Governing Body is provided with a progress report on the ILO’s evaluation work during 2016–17 as measured against its results-based strategy. Part II details the overall effectiveness of the Office from an evaluation perspective. The Governing Body may wish to take note of the present report, endorse recommendations contained therein and confirm priorities for the 2018–20 programme of work for evaluations (see draft decision in paragraph 100).

  3. Summary findings of the independent evaluation of the evaluation function

    In the present document, the Governing Body is provided with a summary of the findings and recommendations from the independent evaluation of the evaluation function (IEE) conducted in accordance with the process agreed upon by the Governing Body during its 325th Session. The IEE provides an assessment of the overall performance of ILO’s evaluation function during 2011–16 along with explanations for this performance, lessons learned and good practices. The final section of the summary contains a set of recommendations requiring follow-up and an Office response. The Governing Body might wish to request the Director-General to take into account the recommendations and follow-up as appropriate (see the draft decision in paragraph 43.).

The Governing Body is invited to endorse the recommendations and request the Director-General to ensure their implementation (see draft decision in paragraph 79).

  3. Annual evaluation report 2015−16

    In the present document, Part 1 provides the Governing Body with a progress report on the ILO’s evaluation work during 2015 and 2016, in the context of its results-based strategy. Part II examines the implications of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the ILO’s new results framework from the perspective of evaluation. It also provides an update on impact evaluation as an additional tool for identifying and documenting the ILO’s development effectiveness. The Governing Body is invited to take note of this report, endorse its recommendations to be included in the ILO’s rolling plan for the implementation of recommendations, and confirm priorities for the 2017–19 programme of work (see draft decision in paragraph 72)

The Governing Body may wish to take note of the present report, endorse recommendations to be included in the ILO’s rolling plan for the implementation of recommendations and suggestions contained in it, and confirm priorities for the 2016–17 programme of work (see the draft decision in paragraph 73).

    This report summarizes the findings, conclusions, lessons learned and recommendations from three high-level evaluations conducted by the ILO Evaluation Unit during 2011. These evaluations covered the ILO’s strategies to: (1) eliminate discrimination in employment and occupation; (2) address HIV and AIDS and the world of work; and (3) support the Bahia Decent Work Agenda in Brazil.
