This year’s report reflects on progress made in achieving EVAL’s three main outcomes: No. 1 Improved use of evaluation by management and constituents for governance; No. 2 Harmonized Office-wide evaluation practice to support transparency and accountability; and No. 3 Evaluation capability expanded through enhanced knowledge, skills and tools. Planned evaluations for 2016-17 are also announced.

Independent evaluation of the ILO's strategy and actions to promote skills development for jobs and growth, 2010-2015

Skills development increases the employability of workers, the competitiveness of enterprises and the inclusiveness of growth. This high-level evaluation explores the extent to which the ILO’s strategy, programme approach and interventions to promote skills development for jobs growth achieved their intended results from 2010-15. It also aims to facilitate the alignment of the ILO’s skills-related work with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and informs the development of the strategic plan 2018-21. The evaluation identifies recommendations for improving the ILO’s skills-related work and reflects on lessons learned and emerging good practices in an effort to contribute to organizational learning.

Independent evaluation of the ILO’s Decent Work Country Programmes, strategies and actions in the Western Balkans (2012-15)

ILO Decent Work Country Programmes (DWCPs) are the primary framework for delivering support to member countries in an effort to promote decent work as a key national development strategy. This high-level evaluation assesses the extent to which the ILO’s Decent Work Country Programmes, strategies and actions that were delivered in the Western Balkans region from 2012-15 achieved their expected results. It also identifies recommendations, lessons learned and emerging good practices in order to contribute to organizational leaning by informing future DWCPs and strategies. The evaluation analyses five DWCPs in Albania, Bosnia and Herzogovina, Montenegro, Serbia and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
