ILO-OECD High-Level Roundtable on Responsible Supply Chains in the Textile and Garment Sector

This roundtable will provide a forum for dialogue on building responsible supply chains in the textile and garment sector that contribute to inclusive growth and sustainable development, in line with the recommendations of the ILO Tripartite Declaration of principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. The roundtable will also identify challenges and possible areas for future collaborative action.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) are jointly organizing a High-level Roundtable on Responsible Supply Chains in the Textile and Garment Sector. Governments from buying and supplying companies in the textile and garments sector, other international organizations, employers’ organizations and trade unions, civil society organizations, company brand representatives and intermediate buyers, academics, and OECD National Contact Points will contribute to the panel discussions.

The Roundtable will provide a forum for dialogue on building responsible supply chains in the textiles and garment sector that contribute to inclusive growth and sustainable development through decent work, in line with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and theILO Tripartite Declaration of principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (MNE Declaration). The Roundtable will also identify challenges and possible areas for future collaborative action.

The meeting will be held on 29-30 September 2014 in the OECD Conference Centre, 2 rue André Pascal, F-75016 Paris, France.
