Dispone, en casos de infracción, la intervención necesaria y obligatoria de la Defensoría de la Niñez y la Adolescencia, así como el Ministerio Público, a fin de solicitar la aplicación de medidas de protección que deban disponerse con el fin de amparar al niño, niña o adolescentes que resultare víctima. Establece en todos los casos el deber del Defensor de emitir un dictamen sobre la necesidad o no de la aplicación de la medida de protección prevista en el Código de la Niñez y la Adolescencia.

Además, establece el deber de los establecimientos educativos públicos o privados, comerciales u otros espacios de acceso público que brinden servicios de acceso a internet onerosos o gratuitos, de instalar y activar dicho software. Crea el Observatorio Nacional para la Protección de los Derechos del Niño, Niña y el Adolescente en Internet, especificando su composición y funciones. Finalmente, establece sanciones para el caso de incumplimiento.

The intent of the Act is to set up a juvenile justice system that - (i) prevent crime by addressing the circumstances underlying a juvenile's offending behaviour, (ii) rehabilitate juveniles who commit offences and reintegrate them into society, and (iii) ensure that a juvenile is subject to meaningful consequences for his or her offence in order to promote the long term protection of the public.

Article 1 ratifies the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of the Hellenic Republic and the Government of Australia regulating issues related to the validation of entry for the mobility of the youth (Work and Holiday Visa), concluded on 14 May 2014 and adduces its text both in Greek and English language. The MoU regulates in its chapters the issuance of validation of entry for the mobility of the youth, the entry, stay and conditions of employment, the request for granting documentation and repatriation of citizens, suspensions, amendments, the date of entry into force, duration and dispute resolution.
