    The ILO is carrying out an assessment on the impact of the Syrian crisis on the Jordanian labour market, with a particular focus on host communities.

  2. ILO Response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis in Jordan – Child Labour

    The ILO is stepping up its efforts to work with other UN agencies and national partners to combat the rapidly growing problem of child labour among refugees and, as an important first step, obtaining more data on this phenomenon for future interventions.

  3. Tripartite Action for Youth Employment in Jordan

    The project contributes to the National Employment Strategy (NES), which was formally endorsed in May 2011. It aims to help the government and workers’ and employers’ representatives to tackle youth employment issues.

  4. Expansion of the KAB programme in Kurdistan targeting students enrolled in vocational education institutes and unemployed youth graduates of Technical and Vocational Education and Training

    1 August 2012 - 30 September 2013, Kurdistan - Iraq

    The ILO and UNESCO are working in the Autonomous Kurdish Region of Iraq to expand the ILO flagship enterprise development programme Know About Business, targeting youth throughout the region.

  5. Support to Public Employment Services in Lebanon: Strengthening the capacity of the National Employment Authority

    This project contributes to raising the level of employment to reduce poverty. It focuses on institutional capacity building, labour market intermediation services, information system development and promoting self-employment opportunities.

  6. Empowerment of youth at risk through job creation programme in areas of tension

    The project seeks to mitigate the risk of violent conflict through socio-economic development and peacebuilding.

  7. Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in the Occupied Palestinian Territory

    The ILO is participating in a joint initiative with the UN country team to promote Palestinian women’s social, economic and political empowerment.

  8. Palestinian Women Economic Empowerment Initiative

    The project focuses on promoting economic recovery and decent work conditions in refugee camps in Lebanon. for Palestinian women

    This project aims to strengthen the employability and social protection for Palestinian Refugees living in Lebanon.

  1. Enhancing local employment skills and enterprise in Nahr al-Bared Lebanon

    1 January 2010 - 31 December 2012, Lebanon

    The objective of this project is to reduce poverty amongst Nahr al-Bared residents by providing better access to employment, self-employment and training opportunities.
