A future of work we want

The world of work is undergoing a period of profound transformation. How will these changes impact the Arab States and how can governments, employers and workers come together to build a future of decent work across the region?

To answer these questions, ILO constituents (government, worker and employer representatives) will convene in Lebanon for a special meeting held under the patronage of the President of the Council of Ministers H.E. Mr. Saad Hariri.

In addition to ILO constituents, the meeting will bring together voices from academia, other UN agencies, civil society, the private sector and leaders from across the Arab States.
  • Reach a common understanding of the forces transforming the world of work in the Arab States

  • Provide governments and employers’ and workers’ organizations with the knowledge, ideas and expertise they need to strengthen their national policies on the future of work and social justice

  • Provide a constructive forum for the exchange of ideas, information, partnerships and best practices among the Arab States as they formulate labour policies for the futures
