    The 5th China International Occupational Safety & Health Exhibition and China International Forum on Work Safety, jointly sponsored by the State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS), a cabinet-level department of the Chinese government overseeing workplace safety, and the International Labor Organization (ILO), took place in September 2010.

  2. Forum on Green Jobs for a Better Life

    The Forum is to introduce the concepts and development trend of the Green Jobs Initiatives, to exchange good practices and to discuss the roles of the Government, employers' and workers’ organizations in promoting the green jobs for the green economy.

    Moderated by Professor Niall O’Higgins from Salerno University in Italy, this forum seeks participants’ experiences, expertise and feedback on the issue. Participation is open to all who have an interest in youth employment related issues.

  4. Tripartite Meeting on National Action Plan against the Worst Forms of Child Labour

    8 July 2010

    Senior Government officials, representatives of workers’ and employers’ organizations met in Ulaanbaatar on 8 July 2010 to identify future national action framework to eliminate the worst forms of child labour (WFCL) in Mongolia by 2016, the target date of the Global Action Plan.

  5. Strengthening Workers' Education, Promoting Gender Equality and Achieving Decent Work

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) join hands in promoting gender equality and decent work through strengthening workers’ education and social dialogue, at a workshop held at the UN pavilion in Shanghai World EXPO on 8 July 2010.

  6. Workshop on Building the Capacity of MONEF - the Mongolian Employers Federation - in Preparation for Revisions to Mongolia's Labour Law

    The workshop explained the role of employers' organisations during the law revision process within the context of international labour standards.

  7. Launching Ceremony of the China Advocacy Campaign for the World Day against Child Labour in Yunnan Province CPTING Project

    12 June 2010

    The advocacy campaign is one of the main activities of China’s Project to Prevent Trafficking for Labour Exploitation (CP-TING Project), implemented by the ILO and ACWF. It aims to reach out to schools for migrant and leftover children, especially those who are at risk of trafficking, to migrant-concentrated communities and countryside middle schools. The ILO designs the campaign “Show the Red Card to Child Labour” to prevent children from shouldering the burden of family life too early through government commitment and public participation.

  1. High-level tripartite event to mark the ILO 90th Anniversary

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2009. To mark this milestone in China, a high-level tripartite gathering, jointly organised by MOHRSS, ACFTU, and CEC, and supported by the ILO, was held on Wednesday, 22 April 2009 in Beijing.

  1. Asian Employment Forum: Growth, Employment and Decent Work

    The Forum was a reflection on key policy areas including job creation and poverty reduction, productivity and competitiveness, institutions and informal economy.
