Research seminar on social security for workers in non-standard forms of employment

In the context of the EU-China project - Improving China’s institutional capacity towards universal social protection, the ILO and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) are jointly organizing a research seminar on social security for workers in non-standard forms of employment on 16 June 2021 in Beijing.

The seminar aims to present and validate the preliminary findings of a research carried out by the Chinese Academy of Labour and Social Security (CALSS) of MOHRSS on “Assessing China’s social security coverage of non-standard workers, with a focus on platform workers, migrants and women and measures to close gaps and improve portability of social security benefits”, with national policy makers, national and international experts, provinces, and social partners. The research includes a survey of more than 3,000 workers in non-standard forms of employment.

About 60 participants from MOHRSS, participating provinces, international and national experts, social partners and EU are expected.
