Joint Action to Promote Inclusive Employment for University Graduates with Disabilities Launched

ILO Global Business and Disability Network China Chapter launched the Joint Action to Promote Employment for University Graduates with Disabilities on 20 May 2021 Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, calling for action from government, business, people with disabilities and other stakeholders to work jointly and creatively to promote employment for graduates with disabilities.

The local Department of Human Resources and Social Security and Disabled Persons Federation in Wuxi, universities from Wuhan and Nanjing, people with disabilities, GBDN members and other business partners participated in the event.

The joint action will increase work confidence and improve employment abilities of graduates with disabilities, meanwhile support business partners to create an inclusive and enabling environment for people with disabilities at workplace.


The initiative will cover ten cities. These include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian, Wuxi, Chongqing, Chengdu, Changsha, Xi’an and Hefei. The GBDN-China company members have committed to provide on-job training and employment opportunities for graduates with disabilities.

It is expected that best practice on promoting inclusive employment will be generated from the joint action and shared among business partners in the near future.
