ILO/CMTU/MBA Training Seminar for Trade Union Lawyers and Legal Advocates

This online training seminar is part of CMTU efforts to improve its legal services to better respond to the needs of unions, members and workers in the informal economy.

The Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU) identified its legal services as one of the most important means to reach out to workers and members in the informal economy.  In implementing its action plan to promote labour rights in the informal economy, CMTU aims at improving the existing legal services and building capacity of its lawyers and practitioners.

In cooperation with the Mongolian Bar Association (MBA), CMTU is organizing the second training for 40 trade union lawyers and legal advocates associated with its industrial and provincial affiliates on 6-7 and 13-14 May 2021. Its objective is to enhance participants' knowledge about national laws relevant to workers in the informal sector and recurrent issues related to their application.

Participants will have an opportunity to interact with and learn from MBA legal educators, law professors, and leaders and organizers of different local trade unions.  The ACTRAV specialist and a representative of Alliance of Workers in the Informal Economy (ALLWIES, the Philippines) will share their experiences.
