Workshop on Occupational Safety and Health Promotion in Chinese Medical Institutions

The workshop is organized on 22 December 2020 in Beijing to share the key findings of the assessment and discuss with stakeholders recommendations on improving occupational safety and health for healthcare workers in China.

HealthWISE has been implemented in China for more than five years. By the end of 2019, HealthWISE was applied by more than 130 hospitals across the country.

With the support of the ILO, Peking Union Medical College conducted a rapid assessment of HealthWISE application in China in the past five years through questionnaire based survey and indepth interview with management and healthcare workers.

To share the key findings of the assessment and discuss with stakeholders recommendations on improving occupational safety and health for healthcare workers in China, a workshop on Occupational Safety and Health Promotion in Chinese Medical Institutions will be organized on 22 Dec. 2020 in Beijing. The workshop will be supported by the ILO Office for China and Mongolia, National Commission of Health, and Peking Union Medical College.

40 participants will attend the workshop. These include the government officials from national and provincial Commission of Health, National HIV/STD Prevention and Control Association, experts from Peking Union Medical College, experts from HealthWISE participating hospitals and healthcare workers representatives from Beijing, Yunnan, Guangxi, Shandong, Henan, and Hubei provinces.

Objectives

  1. Share the key findings disaggregated by women and men of the rapid assessment on HealthWISE application in China
  2. Discuss with stakeholder recommendations on improving OSH for healthcare workers in China
