Helping Pacific Islands to Manage Impacts of Climate Change on Migration

Under the project, the ILO will undertake a range of activities to promote and improve regional labour mobility schemes. In particular, ILO will use its technical expertise to work with Kiribati, Tuvalu and Nauru to improve the countries’ data collection and analysis mechanisms for labour migration stocks and flows, and provide other support as required.

Workplace programme to promote voluntary HIV testing launch
13 November 2013, Bangkok, Thailand
An innovative programme to support reduction of HIV infections in Thailand will be launched by the ILO, UNAIDS and the Thailand Business Coalition on AIDS on 15 November. The programme, entitled VCT@WORK, will encourage 100,000 workers to undergo voluntary HIV testing and counselling (VCT) through their workplaces by the end of 2015.

The ILO-IPEC Thailand together with the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare (DLPW) which acts as a secretariat to the National Committee on the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour opened up a new chapter in this work by co-organizing a three and a half day technical workshop on National Plan and Policy on Child Labour, 5-8 September 2013 at The Buddy Oriental Riverside Pakkared Hotel in Nonthaburi, Thailand.
