ILO to launch new report on Key Indicators of the Labour Market (KILM)

The ILO is to issue its latest biennial “Key Indicators of the Labour Market” (KILM), which provides a comprehensive analysis of the global labour market using world and regional estimates and country-level data.

BANGKOK(ILO News) – The International Labour Office (ILO) is to issue its latest biennial “Key Indicators of the Labour Market” (KILM)1/, which provides a comprehensive analysis of the global labour market using world and regional estimates and country-level data.

It includes information on the regions of East Asia, South Asia and South-East Asia .

The fifth edition of the KILM is to be issued under embargo on Thursday, 30 August, for publication on or after 06:00 Bangkok time on Monday 3 September (23:00 GMT on Sunday 2 September).

The KILM, by publishing 20 key indicators of the labour market, analyses a wide range of global trends including: employment and variables relating to employment (status, sector, hours, etc.), the lack of work and the characteristics of jobseekers, education, wages and compensation costs, labour productivity and the working poor.

Through a comprehensive collection, organization and analysis of labour market information, this fifth edition of the KILM provides more insight and new measurements on what the ILO calls “decent work deficits” worldwide, expanding the knowledge base on the relationships between poverty, decent work deficits and labour underutilization.

Launch details

The report and all associated materials are under embargo and not for publication, broadcast or quotation before 06:00 Bangkok time on Monday 3 September (23:00 GMT, Sunday, 2 September).

The KILM or an executive summary of the report will be available to the media on request. An embargoed press release will be available by 30 August.
