ILO announces new dates for Asian Regional Meeting

The ILO Governing Body approves the holding of the 14th Asian Regional Meeting of the ILO in Busan, Republic of Korea.

At its meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, the Governing Body of the International Labour Organization (ILO) has approved the holding of the 14thAsian Regional Meeting of the ILO in Busan, Republic of Korea. The meeting will be open on Tuesday 29thAugust and close on Friday 1stSeptember 2006.

The Asian Regional Meeting of the ILO is normally held every four years. It brings together the political, economic and social actors from the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

The International Labour Organization is the United Nations body concerned with work and work-place issues. It was founded in 1919, with a unique structure that brings together Governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations. It has 178 member states.
