  1. ILO/Korea Fellowship Training on Participatory Approaches to Improve Working and Employment Conditions in the Informal Economy (KLEI)

    13 - 17 October 2008

    This course is jointly organized by the ILO, International Training Center (ILO-ITC) in Turin and the Korea Labor Education Institute (KLEI) in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The course aims to provide participants with experiences and analytical skills for the formulation of national strategies for the improvement of working and employment conditions, with a particular focus on enabling and supporting action at workplace level.

    The conference is hosted by Korea University of Technology and Education (KUT)in partnership with ILO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, Ministry of Labour and HRD Service, Korea. The event is held at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Hotel , Seoul, Republic of Korea.

    Many countries have developed national programs for sustainable development including addressing the challenges of climate change. There is a growing awareness that employment and labor market policies can contribute to a smooth transition to more sustainable growth by identifying opportunities for green jobs. Strategies for green jobs are set to become increasingly important part of employment generation efforts in many countries.

  2. Training on Migrant Recruitment Practices and Policies

    21 - 23 July 2008

    Aims to help participants identify ways in which to implement the Mekong Recommended Guidelines and the research recommendations in each country's domestic context.

  3. Labour Dimensions of Human Trafficking, Understanding the Issue & Effective Responses: Lessons from the Greater Mekong Sub-Region of the ILO Mekong Project to Combat Trafficking in Children and Women (TICW)

    21 - 25 July 2008

    Aims to provide participants with an advanced understanding of trafficking for labour exploitation and to build capacity to ensure more effective responses in the Mekong-Sub-Region.

  4. Regional Symposium on Deployment of Workers Overseas: A Shared Responsibility

    15 - 16 July 2008

    The Symposium contributes to the attainment of the national action priorities identified in the Fourteenth Asian Regional Meeting held in 2006 in Busan, Republic of Korea, specifically the one on improving dialogue and the management of labour migration so as to benefit both sending and receiving countries and better protect the rights and equal treatment of migrant workers.

  5. ILO/Korea Study Tour on Employment Insurance(KEIS)

    1 - 8 July 2008

    This study tour is organized by the ILO and Korea Employment Insurance Service (KEIS) in the framework of the ILO/Korea Partnership Programme and will provide participants with opportunities for learning Korean experiences and expertise on employment insurance system.

  3. ILO/Korea Fellowship Training Programme to promote National Framework for OSH (KOSHA)

    27 June - 3 July 2008

    The training is jointly organized between the ILO and the Korean Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) within the framework of the ILO/Korea Partnership Programme. The training programme will include key and emerging OSH issues in the region such as legislation, enforcement, OSH management systems, occupational injury reporting systems, extending OSH protection to small enterprises and small construction sites, and OSH of migrant workers.

  1. Asia-Pacific Regional High-Level Meeting on Socially-Inclusive Strategies to Extend Social Security Coverage

    The broad objective of the meeting was to identify some policy approaches that countries can use to extend the social security coverage of their workforce and make it more effective, with a particular focus on workers in the informal economy and unorganized sectors.
