  1. Inception workshop: Research on integrated approaches to decent work in Jakarta

    3 March 2011

    In view of the importance of urbanisation in Asia and the Pacific, cross-country research on integrated approaches to decent work in rapidly growing Asian cities is being conducted. Jakarta is among the cities of focus, and this workshop will bring together Indonesian constituents and other stakeholders to share knowledge and experiences and identify and agree on specific issues to be addressed by the research.

  2. A Series of Business Continuity Planning Programmes

    Business Continuity Planning Program (Business/Operational Continuity Planning) is an ILO program implemented through the activities of advocacy, promotion and education related to business continuity planning efforts at the level of decision-making of a company or organization.

  3. Local Economic Development Summit Maguindanao

    1 March 2011

    The summit aims to integrate local economic development in the plans and programmes of Maguindanao. The summit is part of the MDG-F Joint Programme on Alternatives to Migration: Decent Work for Filipino Youth initiative, a programme designed to improve access to decent work for poor, young men and women, and to improve policy coherence and implementation in relation to young people, employment and migration, through greater participation.

  1. ToT on SIYB for Officers of Productivity Improvement Center, Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration

    Recently, the Government of Indonesia has committed to revitalize the entrepreneurship as a strategy in employment creation. It clearly manifested among the priorities in the Medium Term Development Planning (RPJMN 2010-2014) which emphasizes the importance of liven up entrepreneurship and competitiveness. The Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration (MOMT) as one of responsible ministries in developing human resources and employment creation demonstrates a strong interest in establishing entrepreneurship education and trainings.

  2. Inclusive GET Ahead: promoting economic empowerment of women and men with disabilities in Lao PDR (Oudomxay).

    21 - 25 February 2011

    A joint initiative of two ILO projects: INCLUDE and WEDGE that promote and support the inclusion of women and men with disabilities in enterprise development initiatives. Two Inclusive GET Ahead training courses for women and men entrepreneurs or people who want to start a small-scale business will be delivered by the Lao Disabled Women’s Development Centre in Vientiane Province and Oudomxay Province.

  3. Child Labour Knowledge Sharing System Users Training

    Nationwide training on the Child Labour Knowledge Sharing System, a new web portal for knowledge sharing and collaboration of all anti-child labour advocates.

  4. Child Labour Monitoring and Direct Beneficiaries Monitoring System Training and Presentation of Baseline Survey Results

    21 February - 18 March 2011

    The training aims to develop the Child Labor Monitoring System and referral system and discuss the Direct Beneficiaries Monitoring System on child labour.

  5. Building Peer Support for Return Migrants

    16 February 2011

    Former women migrants from the provinces of La Union, Nueva Ecija, Ilocos Sur and the National Capital Region attended a seminar-workshop recently in a purposive move to help themselves overcome negative migration experiences and hasten the readjustment and reintegration process.

  6. Ilocos Sur to Set Up Task Force for Migrants

    16 February 2011

    Ilocos Sur Vice Governor Deogracias Victor Savellano expressed his support to setup a provincial task force that will deal with issues affecting migrant workers in the province. The task force will essentially provide assistance on return and reintegration of migrant workers.

  8. Public Employment Service Office Managers' Training on Access to Phil-JobNet

    15 February 2011

    Training on the Phil-JobNet website to promote access to job opportunities. Phil-JobNet is an internet-based job and applicant matching system which aims to fast track jobseekers for job opportunities and employers search for manpower. It is the centralized-database facility of the Department of Labor and Employment.

  9. ILO/SKILLS-AP/Japan Regional Workshop and Study Programme on “Addressing Skills Mismatch through Public Private Partnerships”

    14 - 18 February 2011

    The workshop aims to assist tripartite delegations from selected countries in the region to discuss and find effective ways to develop partnerships between training institutions and industries in making the skills development system more responsive to labour market needs and to reduce skills mismatch.

  10. Traning on Assessing the Effects of Trade on Employment: an Introduction to Social Accounting Matrix and Multiplier Analysis

    13 - 17 February 2011

    The EC funded ILO project on trade effects on employment (ETE project), with the support of its constituents, is organizing a technical training focusing on trade effects on employment in Bangladesh. The objective of the training is to strengthen the capacity of the constituents to formulate coherent trade and labour market policies. The training will take place from 13-17 February 2011 at Brac Centre Inn, Mohakhali, Dhaka

  11. ILO-FAO and Municipal Working Group Planning Workshop

    10 - 11 February 2011

    The activity is aimed at promoting participatory management, enhancing coordination and planning process at the local government level and heightening the sense of ownership and responsibilities of the partners to the project.

  12. Workshop on Financial Education for Migrant Workers and Their Families

    9 - 11 February 2011

    Realizing to the poor understanding of migrant workers towards financial services and accesses, ILO is developing a financial education programme for migrant workers and their families, aimed to provide direct assistance on financial services and accesses as well as income planning and management.

  13. Stop Violence against Women in Every Sphere of Life not only at Workplace

    9 February 2011

    The second consultation workshop on “Promoting Gender Equality and Preventing Violence against Women at Workplace” took place at BIAM Foundation, Dhaka, on 9 February 2011, which was organized by the Ministry of Labour and Employment and supported by the ILO.

  14. ILO/Korea Policy Dialogue and Study Program on the “Role of Government-Government Recruitment and Placement in Foreign Employment Programs of Asian Sending Countries”

    8 - 9 February 2011

    This programme dialogue and training workshop aims to (a) examine and share knowledge on the rationale for the government-government agreements; (b) consider the impact of these services drawn from within and outside the region; (c) identify the good practices and lessons learned in the implementation of these policies; and (d) determine training needs and plan forthcoming programs for MOU participating countries.

  15. Workshop on law and tax benefit for hiring people with disabilities - Employers' Activities Thailand

    8 February 2011

    A joint event organized by the Employers' Confederation of Thailand (ECOT), the department of Law of Thammasat University, and ILO. The workshop will provide employers with relevant information on recent laws and taxation benefits that apply to employers who decide to hire people with disabilities in Thailand. It will also be an opportunity to share information on global inclusive business initiatives and networks.

  16. Training for Specialists in Indonesia: Assessing the Effects of Trade on Employment

    7 - 11 February 2011

    The training is aimed to strengthen the participants’ skills to empirically analyse the effects of trade on employment using Social Accounting Matrix and multiplier analysis. In so doing, the training lays down the base for researchers and analysts willing to embark on more complex SAM-based methodologies.
