  1. ILO/Trade Union National Conference on current employment contract practices and the need for its changes

    The Conference was attended by more than 90 unionists from the confederations and trade unions in the four provinces, CAMFEBA, MoLVT, the Arbitration Council, and ILO. It aimed to address workers' deep concerns on the widespread use of Fixed Duration Contracts (FDC) in Cambodia undermining labour rights and trade union rights; to strengthen union unity and solidarity among local, provincial and national unions for bringing changes in the system; to adopt a plan of action for a nationwide campaign for safer employment conditions and relations.

  2. Cycling bicycle campaign against child labour on the street of Phnom Penh, Cambodia

    The Inter-Trade Union Against Child Labour consisted of 5 confederations and 2 Non-Affiliate Federation organized Cycling bicycle campaign on 10 June 2012 on the theme “Cycling bicycle against child labour on the street in Phnom Penh City, participated by 105 people with bicycles”. This campaign participated and supported by ILO IPEC and World Vision Cambodia.

  1. ILO/ACTRAV Norway Project: Trade Unions for Social Justice in Nepal

    ILO/ACTRAV, with support from Norway, has been carrying-out this project in Nepal since early 2007. The ultimate goal of the project is to enhance the capacity of the trade unions in Nepal for effective and active involvement and participation in social dialogue at different levels. The project has been supporting the major trade unions to enhance their capacities in dealing with youth employment, freedom of association and collective bargaining and eliminating child labour.

  1. Indonesian major confederations establish Joint Trade Union Secretariat

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) is organizing a two-day Sub-Regional Seminar on Strengthening Union Capacity Overcoming Multiplicity of Unions in South East Asia” from 12-13 December 2011 in Jakarta. The seminar is aimed to share experiences on how unions can be united on issues of common concerns and discuss ways as well as means to strengthen their solidarity and avoid proliferation of unions.

    Promoting sustainable enterprises calls for the strengthening of the institutions and governance systems which nurture enterprises. Strong and efficient markets need strong and effective institutions. Promoting sustainable enterprises is also about ensuring that human, financial and natural resources are combined equitably and efficiently in order to achieve innovation and enhanced productivity.
