1. 2022-2026 UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for Mozambique

    The United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for Mozambique between 2022 – 2026 represents the UN’s collective support to the achievement of the Five-Year Government Programme (2020 – 2024), Mozambique’s National Development Strategy 2015 – 2035, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the African Union Agenda 2063. Jointly developed, it is an agreement between the Government of Mozambique and the UN to work together, in partnership with the broader society, including civil society, academia, the private sector, and development partners, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in an integrated manner. The UNSDCF will contribute to a vision for the country where all people equitably participate in, and benefit from, sustainable development in a peaceful and resilient Mozambican society, underpinned by gender equality.

  3. Advocacy on social protection targets Mozambican Parliamentarians

    Between 18 and 19 April, around 45 parliamentarians from the Republic of Mozambique took part in an advocacy activity conducted by the Civil Society Platform on Social Protection with support from the European Union and the ILO. This activity had the goal of sensitizing legislators about key governmental interventions around social protection, particularly on the basic social security programmes administered by the National Institute of Social Action (INAS).

  4. Mozambique’s National Conference on Combatting the Worst Forms of Child Labour

    On Friday 22 April, Mozambique held its National Conference on Combatting the Worst Forms of Child Labour in Chimoio, Manica Province. Several high-level representatives took part in this conference, including the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Margarida Adamugy Talapa, the Governor of Manica, Francisca Domingos Tomás, and the Vice Minister of Gender, Child and Social Action, Lucas Mangrasse.

    This statistical report harmonizes the evolution of the coverage of the social security system managed by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) ofMozambique.This document is the result of a major effort by the INSS, with the support of the ILO through the ACTION/Portugal project, that has the objective ofpresenting in a clear and systematic way the general picture about the evolution and trends of the contributory social security system, including regarding the enrollment of contributors and the number of beneficiaries and pensioners of the system during the period 2016-2020.

  8. Formação sobre o uso de sistemas de informação geográfica em proteção social (Training on the use of geographic information systems in social protection)

    This course focuses on geographic information systems and their use in the social protection sector with a focus on statistics. Organized by the ILO and ITC-ILO through the ACTION/Portugal project in collaboration with the National Agency for Geo-Spatial Development, this training will be provided to Mozambican social protection institutions in the context of the technical retreat for the elaboration of the new issue of Mozambique's Statistical Bulletin on Social Protection.
