Arab States

The ILO Regional Office for Arab States in Beirut covers Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, the Occupied Palestinian territories, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Two area offices are located in Kuwait and Jerusalem.

The ILO’s work is done with the tripartite partners – governments, workers and employers to foster social justice with decent work opportunities through sustainable enterprises, higher productivity and growth with equity.

The work with Employer and Business Membership Organizations (EBMOs) spans all four ILO strategic objectives, with the aim of strengthening the professional capacity of EBMOs to provide services to their members and strengthen their policy-oriented engagements with governments and the workers’ organizations.
